If your life is at risk, you feel like you might attempt suicide, or you’ve seriously harmed yourself, please call 999.

If you’re under 35 and having thoughts about suicide (or are concerned for a young person who might be) you can call 0800 068 4141 between 9am and midnight, every day of the year. Their trained advisors will help you focus on staying safe.

Call 116 123 for free to speak to a trained volunteer about whatever you’re going through any time, day or night. It’s confidential unless they feel you’re unable to make decisions for yourself. You can see Samaritans‘ safety policy on their website.

If you’re under 19, you can call 0800 1111 for free to speak to a counsellor about whatever’s om your mind. Childline is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – but they might not be able to talk for as long between midnight and 7.30am.

If you’re deaf, SignVideo lets you contact a Childline counsellor through a BSL interpreter. You can use it Monday to Friday between 8am and 8pm and on Saturdays between 8am and 1pm.
